American Roulette

The American Roulette is very close to the European Roulette. The payout odds in American Roulette are the same as those applied in European Roulette.

There are three key differences:

Arrangement of the numbers:
The numbers on the roulette wheel in American Roulette are arranged in a different order than in European Roulette.

Double Zero:
The roulette wheel and the roulette table at the American Roulette have separate fields for the so-called Double Zero. Thus there are two green numbers on the wheel. Thus, there are 38 different slots on the roulette wheel. This has a major impact on the win probabilities.

While we have at the Simple Chances in European Roulette a probability of 18 : 37 or 48.65%, in American Roulette the probability is much lower, namely 18 : 38 or 47.37%. Also for all other types of bets, the probabilities are lower than in European Roulette. For example, compared to a bet on a single number (Plein), the probability is 1: 38 or 2.63% instead of at 1: 37 or 2.70%.

While in European Roulette (statistically speaking) every 37 rounds the Zero is thrown, this happens in American roulette (statistically) every 19 spins.

Simple Chances:
While in European Roulette at the arrival of Zero the Simple Chances only loose the half of the bet stakes, them fall at the American Roulette fully as profit to the casino.

Therefore, (if you have the choise) the European Roulette is always preferable the American Roulette. It is a simple mathematical decision.
